​Formal recruitment at the University of South Florida, Sarasota-Manatee is a very rewarding and meaningful experience. The two weeks of recruitment is designed to show you the experience of sisterhood on our campus, as well demonstrate all the wonderful qualities Sigma Alpha Omega® has to offer potential new members.

What is Recruitment?

Recruitment is an opportunity for you to get a sense of what Sigma Alpha Omega® is all about here at USFSM. Our sisters host a variety of events, giving girls the opportunity to get to know us and explore campus life in a fun and relaxed setting. All of our events are FREE and are welcome to USF, SCF, Ringling & NewCollege students.

Do I have to attend all recruitment events?

If you are serious about joining Sigma Alpha Omega® (SAO), you are definitely encouraged to attend all recruitment events from beginning to end. Again, this is a chance to ask questions, get to know the sisters, and for them to get to know you. The more events you participate in, the better both parties are able to determine whether this sorority fits you. We do require potential members to attend at least one information session and a social event before interviews. This is to ensure that interested girls understand what SAO stands for, what you can bring to the sorority, and what it can give you.
